"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called children of God!" - 1 John 3:1
"What Wondrous Love is This"
1. What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
2. When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul!
3. To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb,
Who is the great I AM,
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing!
4. And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free
I’ll sing and joyful be,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on!

Over the last three days or so, in the foremost of my mind, especially last night and tonight, I have been thinking about the utter despair and grief that so many must have felt over the death of their dear Lord....so many years ago. They must have thought that they had lost their hope and their dear Savior and that their worlds had just fallen apart into shattered pieces.
The night before Easter morning must have been filled with heavy weeping by those that loved Him and mourned His death. But they didn't know what was coming in the morning. What they didn't know ... was that He would RISE and bring new life through His death!!
The things we cannot SEE ... we cannot see the joy that cometh in the morning, always...instead we wait... we trust, we hope, we endure, we rejoice ... because the grave has been overcome, death is defeated ... death could not HOLD the Son of GOD!!!! Hallelujah!!!
"When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul!"
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul!"
Thank you, Lord Jesus ...

Great post Jean! I cannot imagine what the disciples, Mary and the many people who knew Jesus and saw His death, what they were experiencing. and I cannot imagine or comprehend the agony and pain he suffered on the cross. It literally blows my mind when I think of how He laid dead in the grave for three days and the whole experience that took place on that morning when the seal was broken and the stone rolled away! Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteBecause He lives, we too, shall live... NOW IS CHRIST RISEN from the dead!! Our hope is fixed securely and safely in Him forever!
