Come to Barberville! -

The Fall Jamboree of 2012 at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement is this weekend!!
Saturday, November 3rd & Sunday, November 4th. all the info you will need! Times, schedules, directions, and pictures! Click here.

Neat is their 36th annual Fall Jamboree. I've probably attended close to.....15 or more in my lifetime. Neat huh? We have pictures of me at Barberville when I was just a little-little girl. :) I'll have to pull those out sometime.

The weather should be gorgeous, because it is right now.... and so come, and be with us!!! I'll probably knock you over with a screaming hug, and drag you around and demand you eat all sorts of things. :)

I dug up a few pictures from the Jamboree of 2010 .... love these. And I wrote a little incentive... thing ... haha....that has nothing to do with the pictures. Just to cause some confusion. You're welcome. ;)

"Come for the music, come for the fellowship, come for the food (boiled corn, y'all!!),

come for the re-enactors, come for the dancing, come for the peacocks,

come for the fun of it, come for the swate tae, come for the shopping and auctions,

come for the Blacksmith's Shop or the General Store,

or just come to drive around with Dave in the Courtesy Cart!!"

So, come one and all!!! We always make the best memories. :) It will be so much fun!! Bring your dancin' shoes, and band-aids. hahaha. jk. (except not) Come one, come all!! Hope to see you there!

With much love!

Pumpkins & Handkerchiefs -

Hey y'all.

I wanted to just post a few pictures from Ohio, so y'all aren't stuck without anything to look at here. ;) Right now we have squally rain and wind from Hurricane Sandy passing by us, and our missionaries from Hungary are staying with us, so I'm not writing or taking pictures like usual. Or spending time on the computer, either!! Which is good for me. :)

Hopefully I will get to share many of the photos from Ohio with you, once I get a few hours to edit them and put some together. It was a precious, sweet time, even though saying goodbyes to a grandparent/parent is always hard. Thank you for your many prayers, we are so grateful.

The Autumn in Ohio was just stunning, and the weather was gorgeous. It was very special to spend time with extended family, and even though it was a super busy time, God really blessed us with being together there.

And Barberville is next weekend!! Crazy how the time flies, soon it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas! :) So I love you all, and I will hopefully see some of you next weekend at Barberville!
Thanks for reading and being a part of my life.

With much love,
~ Jean Marie ~

Some of my Grandmother's handkerchiefs that we found. I brought these home with me.

Tired, but joyful. :) Enjoying the gorgeous weather outdoors at my Aunt and Uncle's farmhouse.

Pumpkins at the Pioneer/Farm/Woodmaking Museum.

Lucy Mae turns Two!! -

Today our little Lucy Mae turns two!!! :) I got up early this morning (not being able to sleep), and brought her back to bed with me. I was asleep in minutes of her warm, curled up self on my stomach, where she loves to be. :) Pet Therapy. haha. ;)

Every morning she greets me with joy, like I'm the world's favorite hero. I want to be the person my dog thinks I am. ;) She's such a sweet lovey. I'm so thankful every day that she is ours.

Here's a few pictures from this morning!! She wasn't quite sure what the extra excitement was about, but she sure understood the bacon, and the extra cuddles with the family!! She is eager to please, and so gentle. She hasn't found anyone she doesn't love yet. :)

I want to do a post of all the things she is and loves, but I'm heading to the beach soon for some relaxation and sun with some dear friends. I haven't been to the beach in awhile, and I know my heart needs it. So I'll do that post another time!!

Fun thing? On my calendar, today is marked as "The Sweetest Day". AND it's Lucy Mae's birthday!!! Awwww, I know, right?!! :D

On the patio, looking outside. Lizards? What?!!

LOVE how animated she gets when she goes Lizard Chasing/Killing. She fully knows she can hunt. :)

She heaves these exasperated sighs of frustration when she can't find anything to chase. ;)

She waits for me outside the door when I'm in the bathroom. It's the sweetest thing.

Mama's girl. Happy 2 years old, Lucy Mae!!

Y'all have a wonderful weekend, and God keep you safe and close in His arms.
With much love,

Fullness of Joy -

Dearest friends....

It is with sadness and joy that I write to tell you that our dear Grandmother Florence has received her crown of glory, and has entered into her eternal rest with her Lord early this morning.

We already miss her, but we are incredibly grateful for her inheritance that will stay with us all our days. Her life was spent serving the Lord with all her heart, and now she sees the One she loves so well.

She was 93 years old, and my Mom and 4 out of her 5 children were able to see her before she went to Heaven. We are so thankful that it was already planned for my Mom to be up there to see her.

Please pray for us as we mourn our loss, and remember her.

We have deep sorrow for us, but we have unbounded joy for her. She desired to be with the Lord!!
How she loved Him, and oh, how He loved her!! It is her greatest gain to be with Him, and we know that her joy is to the full now. She is fully well, fully alive, and will greet us with a great smile and hug when we reach Heaven too.

How I remember her....

When we were little...

Last night it poured rain while the sun shone brilliantly. It was so beautiful.

and an astounding sunset quickly followed.

Soon after I heard that Grandma was declining and would soon be with the Lord, the Lord reminded me of this verse, and would not let it slip from my mind.

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
~ Psalm 16:11 ~

Fullness of JOY, and pleasures FOREVERMORE!!! How sweet this day was for my Grandma Florence!
Your prayers are coveted....because although we've longed for this for her for years, it is still uncharted territory, and we ache over the loss of her in our lives. She served and loved so many, and will be missed by many hearts. She loved well, and in return, we loved her deeply.

Thank you so much.

With love,
~ Jean Marie ~

She doth shine -

Last night Shannon Sproul passed away unexpectedly and left this earth to see Jesus, and to join her Mama in dancing and rejoicing in her Heavenly Home. She was 15.

Hearing news like this never gets easier. It leaves you feeling like you can't breathe, and want the world  to stop, all in one dreadful moment that you realize it's real. I am very sad and heartbroken for the Sprouls, who are left here without her, but extremely joyful for Shannon. I did not know Shannon very well, because usually I'm just with Darby or Delaney, or being accosted with hugs from Maili or Erin Claire, and happily drooled on by Donovan. But I have some sweet memories of when I was around her, and I'll always cherish those.

My greatest impression of her: JOY. Every time I saw her, I was put to shame at her joyfulness. Her cheerfulness, her contentment, and her lack of complaining, and her downright brilliantly radiant smile that lit up her whole face. She had one of the best smiles of anyone I know. :)

The last time I saw her, she was in her stroller, and I smoothed her so-soft hair, and said in a singing voice "Helloooo, Shannon!", she squirmed and turned so she could get a full look up at me, and her whole face lit up in the biggest smile ever. And she didn't know me at all!! It was so special to me. :)

The joy and trust of a child. The sheer sweetness of her small self.
I know her Daddy and her grandparents and her siblings will greatly miss her. And we ache for them.
Please keep them in your prayers. Grief is such a hard valley to walk. She was a light in their world.

As I was driving home today, I was chased by these huge, dark rainclouds. I mean, the wind was whipping small branches and things across the state road, and the clouds were furiously being whipped right along as well, until finally the rain poured down. A small patch of blue being seen here and there.

The significance was not lost on me.

And all along I kept thinking "This is what it looks like the day Shannon went to Heaven. The Earth is crying out to the skies, and the skies are responding, and the whole of it is rejoicing that Shannon is fully healed and fully whole in Heaven!! The world around me is signifying in a small way what the angels were rejoicing over last night, when she went smiling into Heaven to be with Jesus."

and I knew I had to take pictures of it, and so after parking in a place I wasn't supposed to on a side road - I did. And I asked Delaney if she would mind if I blogged this, and she didn't mind. :)

As I drove down a small side road, to find a place to u-turn, I just set my camera on my shoulder and shot. As I looked at the image, I was so confused where that light shaft came from, it just bursting out of the skies like that. I literally got chills about it, and when I came back, it was gone. It was beautiful though!

When I came back, the sky looked like this.....

And then the sun burst through, and it looked like this. This happened over and over. The light would be hidden, it would start raining, the light would shine, a rainbow would appear. Then it would all grow dark and whip the trees, and then it would calm, and the sun would shine.

~ Psalm 73: 23-26 ~
"Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in Heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." ~ Hebrews 13:8

Taking pictures of these Autumn flowers means a lot to me. October is a hard month of remembering grief for others. And for a few weeks each Autumn, these wildflowers in brilliant gold arrive, and spread all over the wetlands. I love love love them. And in the rain, they seemed so fully ALIVE.

Shannon is fully alive in a way we can only dream.

Heaven will be better than anything we can ever hope or dream, and I can't wait!

My favorite.
Taken while dreaming about what Heaven is like, and thinking what a glorious day for Shannon that this was!!!

I asked Delaney and Darby's good friend Lenna, if I could steal what she wrote on FB, because it just summed up exactly what I didn't know how to say. She was super sweet, and said I could.
The following Scripture and quote is from her -

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." ~ 2nd. Cor. 1:3-4

"Many of us cannot even begin to know what it's like to lose a mother and a sister in less than a year.
But what we do know now is that the Lord will be the One that brings the Sproul family true comfort and peace. And so we weep with them because of their loss, but also rejoice in knowing that Shannon is now singing and dancing in Heaven. We love you." ~ Lenna C.

Please join me in praying for the Sproul family: Mr. Sproul, Darby, Campbell, Delaney, Erin Claire, Maili, Reilly, and Donovan, as well as their extended family.

Dearest Sproul family - one of my very favorite quotes that means a lot to me; for Shannon.

"She is not sent away, but only sent before, like unto a star, which going out of your sight,
doth not die and vanish, but shineth in another hemisphere:
ye see her not, yet she doth shine in another Country."
~ Samuel Rutherford ~

With deep sorrow and great rejoicing,
many prayers, and much love,
~ Jean Marie ~

Photoshoot with Georgia Rose -

Okay, y'all. :) I pared these down to 75, even though I edited 125, so this isn't even all of them!! But I stopped myself at 75, and the rest of them are in the 6 minute long video at the end. :) Each still has 3.5 do the math. :)

Just one week after meeting Georgia for the first time, I'm still giddy each time I look at her beautiful face, still enraptured at the joy that she is, still peaceful at the gift of her life to Ben & Emily. :) I loved editing these pictures of her.....I did them all in just 5 days! :)

As I mentioned before, I'm a huge fan of Infant Lifestyle Photography, and that's very much what this is....the diaper peeking out here and there, the rocker in the background, the background of her Mama folding baby clothes just a few feet away ... it's natural and normal and it was so relaxing just to shoot as we went. Holding her was one of the greatest joys of this year, for sure. :) Ok, before I get all teary - here are the photos!! :)

~ Georgia Rose Infant Lifestyle Photoshoot ~

Sound asleep

Oh, this pout!!

The light was perfection ....

Oh those cheeks and chin!! This one makes me laugh. :)

she inherited her long fingers from her Mama

Oh that dimple in her chin!

Her tiny-tiny feet.

Little ears for hearing.

Little hands for holding.

Perfection. (one of my very favorites!)

Waking up to Mama's smile.

Oh! Big yawn!

Portraits in the light streaming through the doors.

Those sweet legs.

She fits perfectly at one arm's length comfortably. :)

love this.

The wrinkled lines on her forehead, just the perfect questioning Emily look!!

Newborn feet.... l.o.v.e.

10 little toes.

Sunlight on her face.

Waking ...

... Up!

Hello!!! Look at those beautiful eyes!

Those lips. :)

Not quite sure of the different camera than Mommy's, but still interested. ;)

She is infinitely precious.

Emily was saying that she was looking at me like: "Who are you? I think I like you...You're funny." Hahaha! :) She was really alert and awake, which was so fun to get these. Thanks to Emily, I have pictures with these special memories! Besties are great like that. :)

In my arms.

Oh my heart.

SEE? How much cuter can she get?!!!

Awake and content. :)

Sweet, sweet baby....

that soft, gorgeous, dark newborn hair of hers.

Doing the army crawl. At 8 days. Look out, world. :) Love this one.

"Oh, my fist. This tastes good."

"Oh, you are here! Hello!!"

"Well. I'm just chilling here. While you alternate between tears and laughter and taking pictures of me." :)

Her sweet little feet in Emily's hand.

Georgia washcloths and blankets. :)

Fresh, clean, tiny baby girl clothes. :)

Her stunning Mama.

Emily, you are amazing. I'm so proud of you!

Oh my.

Bless these little feet in the places they go.

Dreaming in her Mama's lap.

Sound asleep on my shoulder. Ohhh myyy heart. It's gone. Oh, Georgia Rose.

Hands clasped on her own accord. :)

Sweet little Southern baby holding onto my pearls.

Ohh, those lips in the Elvis smirk. :)

Taking pictures of her hair was addicting. Like Cotton Candy kind of addicting.

Soft and dark.

With a hint of red in the sunlight.

Those cheeks!!

 Love her hair!

Wee babe.

Little darling.

Oliver keeping a close watch on all things Georgia, he was so sweet and let me pet him!

And bestest cousin - David. :) At almost 7 months, he is growing fast and tall!! And he is getting chubbers feet and legs and is the sweetest, and most darling little guy. :) Love him. :)

Literally one of the most beautiful women I know on the outside and on the inside. Tricia is an amazing mom, an incredible wife and a special, rare best friend. :) She goes straight to the heart, this one.

She was feeding him some prunes baby food, and he was just nomming it up!! :)

I tell you, it is so easy to make David laugh and entertain him!! He is such a lovey and a joy. :) haha.

This makes me kind of teary. :) :)

and here's the video!! With almost all the pictures, and a little video ... and that special song, "Georgia On My Mind"  I've been waiting to sing for forever and now I play it about 15 times every day. hahaha. When the video starts, and it's video - Georgia was dreaming and making faces, while I sang that song to her. :) Probably making faces at my singing!! :) I covered my singing up with Michael Buble. WIN. hahaha. So - enjoy!!! I also have loved that second song for a long time too. :)

Ben and Emily, thank you so much for the JOY of meeting Georgia Rose and taking pictures of her. :)
It was a very very special day for me. :) Love you three!! She is an incredible, precious gift.
Congratulations!! May God continue to bless you as you grow together as a little family under the Almighty's shadow and under His loving gaze.

I love you, Georgia Rose!!!!!

With much love,
~ Jean Marie ~
