The Stone Family Band! -

Hey, ya'll,

Last night, I was invited by Anna to be one of their VIP guests at the Kennedy Space Center's Got Talent Show, and of course, I was thrilled to say yes. :) It was such a special time, and they did SOO well playing, and and aannnndd....they won 2nd place!!!! Congratulations, Stone Family Band! You won 1st in my heart, but I'm just so happy that you won 2nd as well!! :D It was very very fun to be an official "roadie" for the night for a band. Haha. I may have found my true calling in brushing grass and water off of cowboy boots and holding everyone's instruments and all around looking official while I play Silent Night over and over and over on Emily's guitar while they were in their meeting.

Do not laugh at me!! That's the only one I know well. And no, people were not watching me and looking like they wanted to ask WHY I WASN'T the only one NOT wearing cowboy boots, thank you very much.

**You will notice I have put the Stone Family Band logo on the pictures, instead of my name, so that the images are theirs and mine. Thank you!**

Let us move on -

It's sooo true - KSC's got talent, and as one of the judges said,
"I'm gonna' be driving by the Mims exit more often!!!"!
HAHA hahhahaa!! :D

Our MC who couldn't have been better,
or more funny, or a better trivia reader! :D
It was truly fun AND hilarious to hear his comments
and trivia questions in the middle of the acts.
One of my favorite parts of the night!
Thank you for being so gentlemanly, sir!
... and I got 2 questions right. Haha.
Oh. And yes....he is an Ex-Marine.

This lovely lady was a Celtic Woman admirer,
and we very much enjoyed hearing her recite
Robert Burns (shriek)' poem on the
"Wee little Beastie" of a mouse in the field,
as well as singing O Danny Boy acapella!
She did a beautiful job, and both took great courage!

These two guys entertained us with
a well-played and a well-chosen song for out here!
"I'm a Rocket Maaaan! I'm a Rocket Man!,
I can shoot rockets off all day long!!" :)

Great spirit. Great playing. :)
... but of course, nothing captures your heart like this lovely girl,
and ... as she waits ... or -
Emily, are you taking your pulse? :) Haha.
She looked so patient and calm (she wasn't).

Prepping to play....huddle up!!

Emily and Anna playing the Rock Song -
how I love that song!!

Boots, baby....boots.

Gooooooo, Stone Family Band!!

May the road rise to greet you,
may the wind be always at your back
.....
and until we meet again, may God,
may God,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand!
(standing ovation!!)

WHOOOP!!! Great job, ya'll!!

Like I could help myself from taking pictures of the skirts
and the boots...this is when they were on stage,
waiting to see who won first and second!
(hah) I know which boots belong to who: LtoR:
Anna, Emily, Livvy, Mrs. Stone. :)

Hearing the news, and receiving 2nd prize!!
And thanking people. :)
What a blessing to them and to everyone there!

and....the group that won the 1st prize, they were called
"Reflections", and were so nice! We really enjoyed chatting with
them afterward, and talking about performing and such. :)

Great job, Stone Family Band, and thank you for adopting me as "the other daughter" for the night, and Anna....for introducing me as "the best friend", and to Emily for officially naming me the "Stone Family Band Roadie". :) It was a special night, and you did a great job!! There were several people in the audience and among the judges as well that praised having a family singing and playing together, as well as thanking them for singing the Irish Blessing, and for giving God the glory!! As Mrs. Stone later said - God was glorified!! :) He truly was.

... one last thing I must tell you ... where the show was held was at the Kennedy Visitor Center, and the lobby was a circular one with a high ceiling to account for a space capsule hanging in it, but the acoustics in there were SO AMAZING, I wanted my room to sound like it. You basically were the best singer ever (bar none) in tone, range and loudness(I can't think of a better word), you stood anywhere in that room, and I hit all sorts of notes like F's and G's, just because the echo and vibrato was amazing. AMAZING, I tell you.

Anna and I discovered it first, and we sang a little, and then a little later, for about a half hour, Emily, Olivia and I stood in there and sang and sang, let me tell you - I was one happy little camper. The security guards left sometime around the second verse of Danny Boy and Rascal Flatts, to sit outside...how nice of them. Haha. Then, as we were leaving, we were showing Mr. and Mrs. Stone the wonder of this room, and they joined us in singing, and then people asked for a last song. :) We sang the first and last verses of Amazing Grace and I was more than a happy little camper.... :) You can imagine my joy, and the people joined us a bit for the last line.

Praise be to God for allowing us to sing for His glory ... and for such a wonderful night!

Thank you, best friends! I loveth thou!
With all my heart,
In our Lord,
Who is faithful through ALL,
~ Jean Marie
