Five Minute Friday: Grace -

From Lisa-Jo Baker, the Gypsy Mama"On Fridays around these parts we like to write. Not for comments or traffic or anyone else's agenda. But for fun, for practice, for joy at the sound of syllables, sentences and paragraphs all strung together by the voice of the speaker. We love to just write without worrying if it's just right or not. For five minutes flat."

Today's prompt: Grace

~ Go ~

"It's there on the wedding day, there in the weeping by the graveside.
There in the very breath we breathe, Your great grace.
Same for the rich and poor! Same for the saint and for the sinner!
Enough for this whole wide world, Your great grace, oh such grace!"

Gracethe free and unmerited favor of God towards sinners and the bestowal of blessings.

Grace. It is an overwhelming topic to breach, yet entirely simple too. It can be the knowledge that God has stooped low to give us sinners mercy, His favor hanging heavy over us in our adoption. Or it can be the way the breeze feels in Autumn when you ask for some relief from the heat.

It is God's blessings in tangible, living, daily, unexpected riches given to us.

And I honestly can't explain it at all.

The most amazing thing I will ever know is that Grace has come to me, rests upon me.
I live in it, under it, am known in it.

It's there, incredibly deep and rich in my darkest days. It's there in the sweetest joys and happiness.
It shows up unexpected, when you least deserve it or understand, and is there in the bliss of forgiveness.
It's there on the days I don't know how to live or what to do, or where to turn. Grace is there.

It won't ever dry up, go away, be taken from me, won't ever grow cold or dark because of my sin or my own need. It will be there, as long as Christ gives it, and He has promised never to leave us. Grace is His presence, daily. His Spirit: moving, alive, living-breathing, in...out...in...out.

He is Grace. He defines Grace. Grace is His gift, and ours to give from Him.

and the most precious thing is that it is mine. For always. Because He loves me. His favor rests on my head.
Breathe in, breathe out.....grace rests upon me, and won't ever leave me the same.
Because Grace changes me.

I love this. I also love your introduction about how we do this "for the love of the sound of syllables..." I'm so glad I stopped by!
