He loves me -
Note: This photo has nothing to do with what I wanted to share tonight, but because I didn't have my camera with me earlier, and since everything is better with a picture, I just picked a favorite. :)
Photo taken August 31st, on our roof. :) One of those late summer nights where the sun is setting, you've just worked your energy out trimming bushes and cleaning gutters, and you just want to soak it in. Lying on my back and watching the sun set behind the Chinese Tallows.
So this evening I was driving one of my besties, Becs, home after our walk/run together at the park, and it was raining. We were surrounded by dark clouds and rain, and there was this crazy patch of blue sky that had a few golden clouds in it, where the sun was setting. And after watching it for a few minutes, and admiring it, I was wholeheartedly enraptured with watching that spot, while trying to be a safe driver at the same time. :)
Then Becs looked out her window and could see two rainbows, and I asked "Oooh! A double rainbow?" and she was like "No, two separate ones!", and I looked up through my sunroof, and I could see a little part of it. So she was seeing rainbows out her window, through the rain, and the beautiful sunset was on my side.
Out of my window, I could see the sunset suddenly spilling this brilliant and unbelievably golden light in a shaft through the clouds against this blue spot that was completely alone. It was almost unreal. And in that moment that I saw it, it was like the ties in my heart just came undone. Untied, truly. My heart has been sooo tied up, that it has just been hurting everything. It needed to be untied, and bound in Christ.
And as my heart was untied, and let loose, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to my soul -
"SEE how much I LOVE YOU."
I do not take saying that lightly. There are times when you know it is He that speaks to you, and He lovingly whispered that to me today, knowing I needed it more than anything. Needed HIM more than anyone. But oh the JOY of hearing that in my soul!!!
My heart untied. Unraveled in the depths of His love. Undone in His never-ending grace.
May you know it to your very inner heart as well. May you be quick to be quiet to listen for His voice.
With much love for you all,
and so much gratefulness to my Lord for those few words that struck the depths of my heart today,
~ Jean Marie ~
"... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:20
~ Psalm 73: 23-26 ~
"Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand.
You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Whom have I in Heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
