September Sunset -

It is late summer here in Florida, and this evening I headed out to run some errands and end up at the river. I'm so very glad I did. I needed the quiet and the breeze blowing over me. And I needed to see that sunset. There is a special glory in Florida sunsets. They really are some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. And since sunset is my favorite time of day, it was just perfection. They really are "bliss" as Shannon says. :)

A warm breeze, the live music floating in the air from upriver, fishermen and shrimpers lazily throwing out their lines and nets, the water slapping the posts, the faint creaking of the wood....all the sounds come together in a river song. If you close your eyes and tilt your head so the wind doesn't reach one ear, you can hear the wave patterns, and only open your eyes when you hear an inconsistency. Like a snuffle - breath of air when a manatee comes up. :) It is a sweet place.

I love this place where I have grown up and live. I love Florida. And I love love love late summer.

Turning the world into pink ...

majestic whites and brilliant blues...

I laid down on the dock, felt the breeze blow over me, and watched the sun set.

The way the light shines just takes my breath away. I call it "Glory Light".

I'm pretty sure this is what Heaven looks like. I want to die at sunset and be buried at sunset, and go straight from a sunset to Heaven's glory. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I realize not everyone thinks about Heaven all the time, but I do. Heaven can only become more beautiful in our minds!

Such vibrant, spectacular colors.

Peace fills my soul.

I love you, late Florida summer. Y'all have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow.

With love always,
